Budco Recognizes Process Innovation
Highland Park, Michigan (August 2, 2011) – Budco, a leading fulfillment and direct marketing organization, announced today the most recent winners of their prestigious McNaughton Award, which honors Budco employees for performance excellence through innovation.
“Innovation has been a prominent part of the Budco DNA from day one and, in today’s business environment, the ability to consistently drive effective innovation is incredibly important,” said Jeff Sierra, Budco vice president of marketing and product development. “That’s why the McNaughton Award is considered the highest form of employee recognition at Budco.”
Two separate teams were recognized for their work. The first was for implementing a new specialized process for certain types of jobs requiring high-speed, personalized inkjet printing. The new process achieved a 50% reduction in run time and cost, resulting in faster speed to market and financial savings for clients. Although the process was initially designed for a specific client need, it has since been leveraged across a number of different client programs with the same positive results.
The second recognition was for a team who developed and executed an online benefits enrollment process for Budco employees across all facilities. The results over previous years’ “paper” enrollment processes were significant, including reduced HR resource requirements, improved accuracy of forms completed and the elimination of postage expenses and cost of printed paper forms. Most notable was the improvement of the employees’ ability to accurately complete the entire process within the required enrollment time period. Employee activation efficiency improved from 75% to 98%.
